Bruce has over 43 years of experience in the non-ferrous metal industry. Commencing as a metallurgical cadet for a leading manufacturer of copper and brass, then onto a commercial role with an aluminium producer before returning to Austral Wright Metals in 2000. Roles during his career include Mill Metallurgist, Product Manager, Export Manager, International Business Manager and Commercial Manager. This has led to a wealth of knowledge gained from not only working with customers, but also over 25 years of visiting and working with some of the leading copper, aluminium and stainless steel mills worldwide.
Mark Robson, M.Eng.Sc; B.Sc (Tech) UNSW
Mark has over 45 years of experience in the non-ferrous metal industry, working as a metallurgist in the copper alloy casting, rolling and extrusion facilities and aluminium rolling mill for a leading Australian manufacturer. Assisting with the establishment of the Austral Crane importing business, and later Austral Wright Metals; included various management roles with Austral Wright Metals, including Quality Manager, Purchasing Manager, and Inventory Manager. This has led to a wide range of experience with all types of non-ferrous metals and specialty metals.
Dr Alex Gouch, PhD Metallurgy UNSW (retired)
Technical Manager
Alex Gouch, based in Sydney, NSW, AU, Alex holds a 1974 – 1980 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Welding at the University of New South Wales. With a robust skill set that includes Metallurgy, Materials Science, Stainless Steel, Welding, Corrosion Engineering and more, Alex Gouch contributes valuable insights to the industry. Alex previously worked for BHP Stainless until it’s closure. He has written a most of the product and technical sheets seen here on this website.
