Copper Sheet, Plate & Coil from Austral Wright Metals
Austral Wright Metals has a history of over 75 years in the copper sheet and coil business as one of the industry’s leading suppliers. We carry an extensive range of copper and copper based alloys and a leading supplier of many other non-ferrous metals.
The reason we know copper is that we made copper raw products for many years. This gives us a rich past in the production and understanding of this metal and it's uses and properties. So no matter the thickness, width, length or quantity check our contact details to inquire on availability and delivery or for more information.

Alloy C10200 is suitable for welding and brazing applications, plus it exhibits superior electrical conductivity to that of 110.
The superior qualities of copper make it the ideal choice in a vast range of commercial, industrial and domestic applications.
To meet the exact specifications of our customers we stock and supply rolled products from the leading copper and brass mills around the world. Not all copper is equal. The smelting process and use of recycled copper mean careful control of impurities and oxygen are required to produce copper suitable for commercial purposes. The manufacturing steps also require exactly control to achieve consistent and quality end products.
Copper benefits & properties
In addition to its well known traditional properties – electrical and thermal conductivity, malleability and resistance to corrosion – copper is far more versatile in combining with other metals to provide performance characteristics needed to satisfy today’s increasingly complex demands.
Some of the most important properties that have leas to the wide use of copper today are:
it is an excellent electrical conductor, second only to that of silver. In 1913 copper was made a standard 100% conductivity, ie IACS (International Anneal Copper Standard).
Ductile - can be rolled into foil with a thickness of as little as 7 micron.
Good casting properties that facilitates the production of fine details.
Easy to join by solder or welding.
Resistant to most types of corrosion.
Ability to form alloys that have attractive colour and can be given a high polish.
More recently to excellent antimicrobial properties of copper have been realised.
Some of the benefits of copper are:
very good hot and cold workability
ability to form a natural patina in the atmosphere that aides corrosion protection
100% recyclable
as copper is a noble metal which means it's galvanic corrosion resistance with other metals is very good.
Applications for copper sheet products
Oxygen free copper (Cu-OF)
99.95% purity, not susceptible to hydrogen embrittlement at elevated temperatures. Used in electrical applications such are transformer generators and cabling.
Oxidised Copper (ETP)
99.9% purity with traces of cupric oxide. Not suitable for high temperature joining techniques. Used in electrical busbars, motor and transformer windings, electrical switches and connectors.
Deoxidised Copper (DHP)
Small addition of phosphorus is added to bind with oxygen to make this alloy suitable for welding. This addition reduces the electrical conductivity of the metal so is not used in electrical applications. Used in roofing, vessels, shower trays and architectural applications.
