What’s the difference between a stainless steel pipe and tube?The tube dimensions define the difference between tube and pipe, with wall thickness of pipe being greater than that of tube for the same outside diameter. Also tube products are defined by their outside diameter measurement, while pipe is measured by the nominal inside diameter (ie Nominal Bore, NB) and the Schedule (wall thicknesses). Which stainless steel tube is the best?The two common alloys used for this product is either 304 or 316 grades. With 304 for interior applications and 316 for exterior and corrosive applications. 316 is also used for its hygienic sterile properties.
